Training Video Production Services for Effective Learning and Retention

When Universal Safety Products (USP), Africa’s largest manufacturer of disposable respirators (masks) contacted us, they were looking for a production company that could take their safety information, which only existed as information and posters and turn it into smart and engaging training videos.

With the key objective defined we began clarifying what the secondary objectives could be, taking into consideration the company’s brand positioning, communication objectives and what works best with the audience the videos are meant teach. From an understanding of these goals we began to deliberate choose the details and approach that would be best for this video. Key considerations included choice of talent, uniform, the best framing to use in the factory, voice over, subtitle languages and many more. This all formed part of our critical pre-production.

The training videos were shot on-site in one day, by the morning the crew arrived the factory had been prepped, talent fitted, uniform customised and creative approach solidified. The crew showed up early in the morning and shooting began on time ensuring a successful and productive day. The VO was captured two days later at the Sandton based state-of-the-art recording studio where within an hour the recording was captured and later a mastered version was delivered of the highest audio quality.

Post-production was done on industry standard software Premiere Pro with the colour grading executed on DaVinci Resolve and delivered digitally.

The team at USP opted for the bundled solution where we used the day to shoot the training video as well as capture photography, creating visual assets that they could use across their platforms including marketing collateral, company profile, LinkedIn and sales materials.

We also designed an updated version of their step-by-step instructional posters.
